Privacy Policy — Declic

Last updated 31 August 2026.

Declic is a camera app for two people. This says what leaves your phone, what does not, and what we can and cannot see. It's short because the app collects very little.

What we collect

An account identifier. If you sign in with Apple, we store the identifier Apple gives us and nothing else — not your name, and not your email address. Apple lets you hide your email; either way we never receive it. The identifier exists so that your paired partner and your shared album can be found again if you get a new phone.

Your photographs, if you save them to a shared album. These are encrypted on your phone before they are uploaded, with a key that only your two phones hold. We store the encrypted bytes. We cannot open them, and neither can anyone who obtains them from us — not our hosting provider, not an attacker, and not us in response to a request. There is no key on our side to hand over.

Nothing else. No analytics, no advertising identifiers, no tracking, no location, no contacts, no crash telemetry tied to you, and no record of how you use the app.

What never leaves your phone

While you are taking photographs, the two phones talk directly to each other over your local network. The live preview, the shutter, the countdown, the photo guide and the burst all happen between the two devices. None of it passes through us.

Photographs you do not save to a shared album never leave your phone at all, except into your own photo library.

Who else is involved

Apple processes your sign-in and, if you subscribe, your payment. We never see your payment details.

RevenueCat handles subscription status on our behalf and therefore knows that an account has an active subscription. They do not receive your photographs.

Supabase hosts our database and file storage. They hold the encrypted photographs and cannot open them, for the reason given above.

Your choices

Delete your account at any time, from inside the app — Settings, then Delete Account. This removes your account identifier, your pairing records and your album's encrypted files from our servers. It does not touch the photographs already saved in your own photo library, which are yours.

Unpair at any time. Your partner then has no way to reach you.

Use the app without an account. The camera, the shutter, the countdown, the burst and the review all work with no account at all. An account is only needed for a shared album.

Children

Declic is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, we will update the date above and say so in the app before the change takes effect.
